Hewitt makes the most of dead rubber

Making the most of his disrupted French Open countdown, Lleyton Hewitt played his first dead singles rubber in 10 years to help Australia to a Davis Cup clean sweep over Japan.

Spectators at Pat Rafter Arena were pleasantly surprised when Hewitt was announced for Sunday’s opening reverse singles rubber, despite Australia holding an unbeatable lead.

And Hewitt did not disappoint by getting the result – overcoming a spirited Yuichi Sugita 7-5, 6-2 in 82 minutes.

Hewitt’s focus now moves to the French Open. (AAP: Patrick Hamilton)

NFL: Bucs hold most 2010 season ticket prices the same, reduce some

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers today announced that season ticket prices for the upcoming 2010 National Football League campaign will remain the same and in some sections prices will be reduced.

General season ticket prices for the 2010 season at Raymond James Stadium will be $99, $89, $85, $75, $65, $55, $50, $49, $42, and $35 per game. The Buccaneers will also introduce a new $35.00 general ticket price.

Bangladesh played 3 test matches last year, winning two and losing one and had a winning percentage of 66.66.

Australia played 13 tests, won 7, lost 3 and drew 3 for a winning percentage of 53.84.

India had 3 wins from 6 tests, suffered no loss and drew the other three. Their winning percentage was 50.00.

History of FC Steaua
Steaua was founded on 7 June 1947, at the initiative of several officers of the Romanian Royal House. The establishment took place following a decree signed by General Mihail Lascăr, High Commander of the Romanian Royal Army. The club’s first name was ASA Bucureşti (Asociaţia Sportivă a Armatei Bucureşti – Army Sports Association). It was formed as a sports society with seven initial sections, including football, coached by Coloman Braun-Bogdan.[1] ASA was renamed CSCA (Clubul Sportiv Central al Armatei – Central Sports Club of the Army) in 1948 and CCA (Casa Centrală a Armatei – Central House of the Army) in 1950.[2]

In 1949, CSCA won its first trophy, the Romanian Cup, defeating CSU Cluj 2–1 in the final. Under the name of CCA, the club managed to win three Championship titles in a row in 1951, 1952 and 1953, along with their first Championship-Cup Double in 1951. During the 1950s, the so-called CCA Golden Team became nationally famous.[3] In 1956, the national team of Romania, comprised exclusively of CCA players, took on Yugoslavia in Belgrade and won 1–0.[4][dead link] During the same year, CCA, coached by Ilie Savu, was the first Romanian team to enterprise a tournament in England where they achieved noteworthy results against the likes of Luton Town FC, Arsenal FC, Sheffield Wednesday FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.[5]
